AMA Freight Agency Industry Focus: Project Cargo

Blog | 02.11.2026

What if your cargo simply doesn't fit the standard?

Too long. Too wide. Too heavy. Or simply too complex for a conventional transport solution.

That's where project cargo begins.

Moving non-standard cargo can require special equipment, individual route planning, permits, detailed loading concepts and close coordination between numerous parties.

And often, the actual transport is only one part of the project.

The work starts much earlier with understanding exactly what needs to move and identifying the challenges before they become problems.

Because when the cargo isn't standard, the solution shouldn't be either.
